Dr. Zakir Hussain College of Education, Mhaismal Road, Khuldabad is a privately owned and affiliated to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University. The college takes pride in the past, embraces the power of the present and delivers the promise of the future ever since its inception in 2004-2005, having completed 19 years of meritorious service to the country in particular, in the field of teacher education for men and women. It aims to produce future teachers with integrated personalities, who can prove as an asset in the national reconstruction.

Dr. Zakir Hussain College of Education, Mhaismal Road, Khuldabad is committed to provide quality education to students. To ensure democratic environment in the institution all matters are discussed by involving the Principal and staff representatives from the college. The head of an institution plays a key role in its successful functioning with the co-operation of well qualified and competent faculty consisting of 22 members, 5 of them holding doctoral degrees, 1 with M.Phil. degrees and majority are U.G.C.-NET qualified, 1 pursuing doctoral degree.

The institutional goal is to provide holistic education to prospective teachers and to achieve this goal the objectives of the institution envisage values oriented education, develop critical capacities, enhance skills and competencies, preserve socio-cultural heritage, bring peace and harmony to acquaint student teachers with the impact of globalization on education. In order to carry on and to regulate varied institutional functions, different committees, houses and clubs perform their assigned work.

The college offers programmers such as B.Ed., Which is recognized by NCTE. Since the college has to train its students in teaching learning process, it does have a good linkage with the schools in the city. The practice teaching plans are developed in partnership cooperatively involving the school staff and mentor teachers. During practice teaching period, the school subject teachers along with our teacher in charge observe the lessons of the student teachers. The heads of the schools interact with the students and give overall feedback about the performance of the student during teaching practice.

The Editorial board of the institute proudly presents its unique creation in the form of the annual magazine “Avishkar” every year which serves as a platform to highlight the literacy and artistic segment. The magazine also highlights the educational, cultural and sports activities of the institute.

It foster an atmosphere of intellectual vigor and moral rectitude in which the youth of our country may find their fulfillment and achieve greatness as eminent men and women of service. Dr. Zakir Hussain College of Education looks at education differently. It consistently and constantly works to form students as competent, committed, creative and compassionate men and women for and with others.


In addition to the existing courses prescribed by the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Value Education forms a vital part of curriculum to make students aware of the teachers’ responsibility in improving the moral fabric of the society. To inculcate the feeling of social responsibility.

The college is located at the outskirts of the city and provides students with access to a wide range of facilities including well-equipped classrooms, student’s common room, ICT lab, Language Lab and its own canteen. It has its own rich library, sports facilities, and Wi-Fi access. As a part of environment consciousness, the college takes lots of initiatives. The committee promotes green awareness in the campus as well as in the surrounding society through staff and students. Initiatives taken by the college to make the campus eco-friendly include energy conservation, use of solar energy, hazardous waste management and e-waste management. Herbal garden is established in the college campus. Rich institutional traditions pertain to an inherent autonomous process, equal opportunities, easy accessibility to the faculty and principal and student-centered approach in teaching-learning leads to conducive environment. The institutional goal is to provide
holistic education to prospective teachers and to achieve this goal the objectives of the institution envisage values oriented education, develop critical capacities, enhance skills and competencies, preserve socio-cultural heritage, and to acquaint student teachers with the impact of globalization on education. The institution has a democratic flavor at all the levels of its working. The students are active participants in the decision-making processes. There is an adequate student representation in various administrative bodies ensuring collaborative working.
